O Israel Sketchbook vai ser lançado oficialmente dia 25 de Outubro, no Festival Internacional de Banda Desenhada da Amadora.

The Israel Sketchbook is finaly coming out, in the Internacional Comics Festival of Amadora.

MESQUITA/MOSQUE

I did these drawings from photos I took from my trip to Kosovo. The men are washing themselfs before going inside for praying. I took my shoes and went inside, where a few men where praying.

The mosque, from outside, across the street, while it was getting dark.

NEWBORN

I just got back from the newborn country of Kosovo with three sketchbooks full of drawings. Here is one, of the "Newborn" monument, in Pristina.

Voltei há pouco a casa depois de cinco dias em Marselha onde estive com os meus queridos amigos Sandrine e Rémi, e o seu gato Loki ( no desenho). Podem ver algumas coisas deles nos links em baixo.

Comecei a colorir um desenho novo. Achei piada explicar o processo, por isso aqui vai...
Started a new drawing, tought it would be cool to show the process, so here goes...

1- Desenho feito à vista num caderno...
...este foi feito o ano passado no verão, na casa de "verão" dos meus pais. Enquanto fiz o desenho tirei fotos do que desenhava, fotos que me vão ajudar a colorir o desenho mais tarde.
1-Drawing on a sketchbook...
...did this last summer, on my parents "summer" cottage... while drawing I took pictures of what I was drawing to help me later while coloring...

2- Digitaliza-se o desenho...
2- Scan the drawing...

3- ...e o lento processo de colorir o desenho começa...
3- ...and the slow process of coloring begins...

4- E continua...
4- And goes on...



5- E assim se passam dois dias...
5- And so two days go by...

Aqui estão as fotos que serviram de referência para as cores. Eu decidi acrescentar o meu pai (que andava a varrer) no desenho.

Here are the pictures that served as reference to the color work. I decided to add my dad ( sweeping the floor) to the drawing.

6- Este desenho é feito a partir da foto.

7- Acrescenta-se e pinta-se... e está feito

Sderot- Israel

Indicaram-me este site que entrevista pessoas de Gaza e Sderot, que é a cidade bombardeada por kassams, e que eu visitei o ano passado. Aqui ficam algumas ilustrações que lá fiz, um abrigo por dentro, um abrigo por fora ( a menina andou à minha volta o tempo todo e eu tive que a desenhar...três vezes) e o Rei do Falafel... de Sderot, claro.

The link obove is from this site that shows people from Gaza and Sderot, wich is the city usually bombarded with kassams, and wich I visited last year. I did some drawings while I was there, wich are below; a shelter from within, a shelter from outside ( the girl played arround me all the time, so I had to draw her...three times) and the King of Falafel... of Sderot, of course.
