Urban Sketchers Portugal- Encontro na Rua Augusta

Get out of the house, even if it´s threatning to rain, draw a façade, met other urban sketchers... why not?...

It was a real surprise to see this in the subway the other day. I remember when I got the brifing for the ilustration, to draw Bono but in a METAL way, I thought " finally all those tenage years of drawing skulls and guitars and metal stuff will come to use..."

Barcelona...

Here´s a few pages I did for the second volume of the Lisbon Studio Magazine ( not yet published but soon). I mostly used the drawings I did in my sketchbooks while visiting Barcelona last year, but adding a few things to them, like people and stuff, to give them a narrative... the story is pretty much what I experienced in Barcelona, but with a few twists in it... you can see some original drawings here...

City Stories Lodz- Poland

The Lodz ( Poland) comics festival took place this last weekend, and Rui Lacas, Filipe Andrade and Filipe Pina and me were able to present the short comics we did for the City Stories sixth volume, which we did togheter with Michal Sledzinski, Balbina Bruszewska and Bartosz Sztybor. Here´s the two covers of the book, ( it´s in Polish and Portuguese), done by Tomasz Piorunowski . Also some photos of the festival and a page of the comic I did along with Balbina, intitled Crying Ele.

The Lisbon Studio/ Exposição colectiva no festival de Bd de Beja

Foi no passado fim de semana o lançamento do primeiro magazine do The Lisbon Studio no festival internacional de Beja, e inauguração da exposição colectiva. Aqui fica a ilustração que serviu para a capa, mais que inspirada no dia a dia do estúdio, fotos do magazine e o convite da exposição. Obrigado a todos os que apareceram.

Novo Hard Club no Porto

Este mês tive o prazer de colaborar com a revista TimeOut, que me pediu uma capa sobre o bairro Campo de Ourique. Ponho a capa e o desenho original.

Livros para começar bem o novo ano...

Books to start the new year in the best way...
Portimão - Como se faz uma cidade. Editado pela Câmara Municipal de Portimão e produzido pelo João Paulo Cotrim, o livro de 151 páginas e capa dura é de excelente qualidade, com bandas desenhadas de Alex Gozblau, Daniel Lima, Filipe Abranches, Jorge Mateus, Pedro Brito, Susa Monteiro, Zé Manel e diverso outros jovens autores locais. Em cima podem ver a capa e duas das dez páginas com que colaborei.

"Feliz Natal- Contos do Salvador" é um livro de contos de Natal editado pelo jornal Correio da Manha cujos lucros revertem a favor da Associaçao Salvador. Textos de vários autores. Em cima a capa e a ilustração para o conto "Bruno e a raposa".

"Os 12 Erros que tramaram o nosso Benfica". Editado pela Guerra e Paz, é um livro bem disposto sobre o Glorioso... E confesso que, sendo eu do Sporting, fiquei com um carinho muito especial pelo Benfica e pela sua história.

Lançamento

O Israel Sketchbook vai ser lançado oficialmente dia 25 de Outubro, no Festival Internacional de Banda Desenhada da Amadora.

MESQUITA/MOSQUE

I did these drawings from photos I took from my trip to Kosovo. The men are washing themselfs before going inside for praying. I took my shoes and went inside, where a few men where praying.

NEWBORN

I just got back from the newborn country of Kosovo with three sketchbooks full of drawings. Here is one, of the "Newborn" monument, in Pristina.
